First Chapter Friday - Suzanne Collins (Hunger Games)

Hunger Games in the first in a three book series. Suzanne Collins has written the books in a future world where the government has divided the United States into 13 districts (areas). Each year the districts are required to hold a lottery to choose two children, a boy and a girl, to send to fight until death against the children from the other districts. The government does this to remind the districts of the power it holds over them, the winner each year returns to their district and lives a life of luxury. The story follows Katniss from District 12.
